We have secured the approved of a further battery storage development that will deliver 10MW capacity of stand by energy storage for the local area. The site is located close to the urban fringe of Swindon but fell within Wilts County. It’s agricultural location near to existing farmyard buildings made it a suitable location with good access.
We have recently working with a battery storage developer who intends to facilitate the delivery of a number of battery storage developments throughout the south east of England. Our first site was a 10MW battery storage development at Bishops Stortford, East Herts. It featured in the Green Belt. Renplan successfully demonstrated that the proposal offered a net benefit to the openness of the Green Belt.
A peaking gas development has been approved in East Lothian Council, Scotland. Renplan successfully negotiated with local authority officers the benefits of the proposal and that it had been strategically located alongside existing agricultural/industrial buildings such that local visual impacts were contained and air quality and noise impacts had been demonstrated to be acceptable.
